Mein Schiff ® – our responsibility.
Head of Sustainability Lucienne Damm outlines our sustainability strategy
Our latest projects:
Key environmental focus topics on board
We ensure sustainability in all areas, from bow to stern, in the air and in the water. To achieve this, we set ourselves objectives and implement them through our crews on board and our employees ashore. These are the goals we are working to achieve:
We all know that generating energy from fossil fuel sources also releases CO2 – and that this drives global warming over the long term. This is why minimizing greenhouse gas emissions and air pollutants in our maritime operations is a top priority at TUI Cruises.
We believe that no waste is the best waste. Nevertheless, on a cruise with many passengers onboard we cannot completely prevent it. We have given responsible solutions a great deal of thought and approach the topic aligned with the established principle of "reduce, reuse, and recycle".
The past few years in particular have made it clear worldwide just how valuable water is as a resource. Our Mein Schiff® fleet therefore approaches water use responsibly as a matter of course, in just the same way as with what remains after consumption – wastewater.

Small step. Big impact.
On course towards ever greater sustainability, every step is a good step. We believe you´ll be more than surprised at what we have already been able to achieve through our environmental measures.

Our Mein Schiff® fleet – modern and efficient
The Mein Schiff® fleet is young. Eight ships have been commissioned since 2014, with the new Mein Schiff Flow to join them in 2026. These modern ships have enabled us to build in the latest environmental technologies in each case and sail the world´s oceans as one of the most efficient fleets in service today.
