Online booking with a waiting room
To give all those interested a fair chance at booking a cruise that is in high demand, when bookings open these cruises can only be booked online via a virtual waiting room.
What is a virtual waiting room?
It’s a well-known solution in online sales for offering a robust and fair bookings process when demand is high. The virtual waiting room opens ca. 30 minutes before bookings start. The position in the waiting room is allocated at random prior to booking starts. From the waiting room, all interested parties are then one after another given access to the bookings page, where the cruise can then be booked subject to availability. The quota is limited and getting a place in the waiting room does not guarantee a subsequent booking.
IMPORTANT:
To make a booking, you must register for a Mein Schiff account.
- Create a Mein Schiff account: register now for your personal Mein Schiff account. That way you won’t waste any time when bookings open.
- Already got a Mein Schiff account? Then please give yourself plenty of time beforehand to check your log-in details (check your password).
- Choose your cruise details: discuss with your fellow travellers before booking opens which cruise(s) or cabin category or categories may be suitable in order to avoid any wait times during your booking. Should several cruise dates or combined cruises be offered, you can switch between cruises even after you’ve passed through the waiting room (subject to availability).
- Select your booking method: only binding, firm bookings are possible. Please therefore decide on a booking method in advance so you don’t find yourself having to pay for a double booking.
- Keep your details ready: have all the names and dates of birth of all cruise participants as well as your payment details ready.
- Waiting room placement: the position in the waiting room is allocated at random when bookings open. Access to the booking page is granted one at a time and only after booking has started.

2. Countdown: Access to the waiting room ca. 30 minutes before bookings open
3. Home straight: Log into Mein Schiff account and book your dream cruise, subject to availability
