Sustainable textiles and interior design concepts

Driving sustainability is a process that affects many things, sometimes also what we need in the morning to dry off after showering. That's why we work with partners such as Dibella for our cruise guests´ cabin towels and bedsheets. They make their products with 100 percent GOTS-certified organic cotton. “Organic cotton” means its cultivation is as environmentally friendly as possible and the harvest is processed under socially sustainable conditions.

Our award-winning bar is bubbling with sustainability

Great sustainability ideas can also be found in things you might not expect. For example, if you are sailing on Mein Schiff 3 be sure to visit the Grööne Bar. The cocktail display has already had a previous life – the printed surface is made of recycled carpet, while the 3D-printed base is made of recycled medical packaging. In addition, the carpets are made of undyed wool and thus have natural colors. What´s more, they are hold cradle-to-cradle certification that upholds the principle of recycling raw materials. This effort has paid off, with the designer of the Grööne Bar scooping a CSI Award in the "Most Sustainable Interior” category.

Café Bar on Mein Schiff 6

On Mein Schiff 6, the Café Bar also oozes sustainability. The chairs and side tables are made of either recycled or recyclable materials, with others made of natural cork.

Just like in the Grööne Bar on Mein Schiff 3, undyed carpets with natural colors grace the floor. Cheers to the environment!
