Narvik

Although Narvik lies north of the Arctic Circle, the climate here is still pleasantly mild thanks to the Gulf Stream. The city also has one of the largest lading ports in the world on the sublime Ofotfjord, which is ice-free all year round. The mega tankers can be observed particularly well if you take the gondola up the Narvikfjellet mountain. In summer, the midnight sun bathes the idyllic port town in a particularly beautiful sea of colour, while in winter the view of the Ofotjord and the snow-covered mountain peaks in the surrounding area beckons.
