Arrival and departure by train (Rail&Fly, Rail&Cruise)
By train to the ship (Rail&Fly)
Travel comfortably by train to the airport and back after your feel-good cruise
When booking a TUI Cruises cruise including an international flight, the 'Rail&Fly' service of Deutsche Bahn AG to all departure airports within Germany (incl. Basel) is available in 2nd class in the PRO and PLUS fares at no extra charge. Tickets for 1st class can be booked for an additional charge. 1st class is included for Business Class passengers.
The PUR fare does not include a ‘Rail&Fly’ service, but an additional booking is possible for a fee. At all other foreign airports, the ‘Rail&Fly’ ticket is not valid, not even for the domestic German route to the border. For guests travelling from abroad, the ‘Rail&Fly’ ticket is valid from the German border for departures from German airports.
Please note that the ‘Rail&Fly’ ticket is not available for our cruises from/to Hamburg, Kiel, Bremerhaven and Warnemünde.
You can find step-by-step instructions for redeeming the voucher codes here
Prerequisite: Flight times are already known for your booked journey (only for Rail&Fly) and the departure is a maximum of 6 months in the future.
Our tip: Please book your Rail&Fly ticket for your outward and return journey in good time before you start your journey - you can still choose your train departure time flexibly on the day you have booked your journey (no train connection).
Please make seat reservations at your local DB sales point or online.
Children (6 months - 14 years) travelling with their parents/grandparents travel free of charge on DB routes.
Information on travelling by train
- Deutsche Bahn AG trains are available for your journey to/from the airport.
- This service does not apply to departures that are not connected to the Deutsche Bahn AG rail network. The DB ticket entitles the holder to travel on all trains and on all Deutsche Bahn AG routes in the carriage class specified on the ticket. Including ICE, ICE Sprinter, IC and EC authorisation.
- In addition, the Rail&Fly ticket entitles you to use all public transport (including bus, underground, tram) in participating VDV transport associations, provided that departure and destination stations are within the respective network area. Further information on the area of validity can be found at: www.bahnanreise.de/geltungsbereich.
- The tickets are not valid on routes operated by private railways (non-federally owned railways), on Thalys and special trains.
- For departures from Euro-Airport-Basel, the Basel Bad-Basel Sbb railway line is included.
- For departures from Salzburg Airport, journeys to Salzburg main station are included in the ‘Rail&Fly service of Deutsche Bahn AG’. The transfer from the railway station to the airport is to be paid for by the customer.
- For departures from other foreign airports, the ‘Rail&Fly service of Deutsche Bahn AG’ does not apply, not even for the domestic German route to the border.
- For guests travelling from abroad via TUI Cruises, the ‘Rail&Fly service of Deutsche Bahn AG’ applies for departures from German airports from the German border. You can use the tickets on the day before departure, on the day of departure itself and on the day of return and the day after. There may be a maximum of 12 months between the outward and return journey. The ‘Rail&Fly service of Deutsche Bahn AG’ allows stopovers when travelling to the airport. The outward and return journeys must be made via the usual route or via the route to the destination airport/home station depending on the timetable. The departure and arrival airports do not have to be the same. Please reserve your seat before departure at your home station or at a DB agency. The reservation fee is based on the current Deutsche Bahn AG tariff and is valid for a maximum of 2 trains (one connection reservation).
- As delays can never be completely ruled out with public transport, you should choose your connection so that the departure airport is reached at least 3 hours before departure. Please note that you are responsible for travelling to the airport on time.
- The rail ticket per route and participant (Rail&Fly ticket) must be purchased by the passengers themselves via the TUI Cruises My Trip portal.
- The ticket issued in this way (printed or digital) must be carried and presented for inspection by the train crew. It can also be uploaded to the DB Navigator app.
- Timetable information is available via the Deutsche Bahn service number (0 30) 29 70 (at local rates) and online at www.bahn.de.

Transfer connections
The connections to the airport listed in the table (PDF) can all be used with the Rail&Fly ticket from Deutsche Bahn, as DB has concluded special agreements with the transfer partners (use only if the departure and destination stations are in different transport networks).
By train to the ship (Rail&Cruise)
Travel comfortably by train to the port and back after your cruise
With the Rail & Cruise Ticket, you can travel from any German railway station to the ports of departure in Bremerhaven, Hamburg, Kiel and Warnemünde. The shuttle from the railway station to your feel-good ship is already included.
Delays can never be ruled out with public transport. Our recommendation: choose your connection so that you reach the ship at least 3 hours before departure. Please note that you are responsible for arriving on time and that TUI Cruises accepts no liability.
