Kingstown (St. Vincent)

The Caribbean island of St Vincent is characterised by black lava beaches and lush green rainforest. The Grenadines, an archipelago of numerous small islands in the immediate vicinity of St Vincent, are also a feast for the eyes of holidaymakers. Kingstown is the vibrant capital as well as the administrative and economic centre of the islands. The streets of the city are characterised by French-style arcades. The harbour is bustling with fishing boats as well as cargo and passenger ships. You can enjoy a spectacular panoramic view of the city from Fort Charlotte, a fortress built in the 18th century. From a different angle, you view Kingstown from Dorseshire Hill, which rises to the east of the town.
