Flåm is a small Norwegian tourist town of around 450 inhabitants. It is situated on the innermost part of the Aurlandsfjord, which forms part of the 204 km long Sognefjord. Surrounded by steep mountains, thundering waterfalls and green valleys, Norway’s unique landscapes are presented here, leaving visitors in awe. The port is visited by around 110 cruise ships every year, making it one of Norway’s busiest cruise ports. The Flåm Railway starts not far from the ship, a convenient way to take an impressive trip to the beauties of nature. The Flåm Railway is considered particularly spectacular by railway connoisseurs, as the 20 km long route has to overcome enormous differences in altitude of up to 867 metres. It winds spectacularly up the mountain between rocks, fjords and the sea. If you prefer to be more active, there are numerous hiking trails to tempt you to go on a tour of discovery, completely at one with nature.
