Walvis Bay is the most important port in Namibia. The town owes its name to the abundance of fish and is known for its oysters and langoustines. Maybe that’s why there are so many seals frolicking in front of the lighthouse on the beach. Other animals also feel at home here: The lagoon in the south of the city is 5,000 years old and is home to an incredible variety of birds. You can even spot flamingos and pelicans here.
